ashtanga mysore in ahangama

a practice rooted in tradition.

From Sunday till Friday mysore runs between 7–9am, but everyone begins at their own time, depending on how long their practice takes. Over mornings shared in quiet focus, a sense of community forms — each person on their own journey, yet moving together.

The beauty of this practice is in the dedication — showing up, six days a week, to meet yourself again and again.

about ashtanga mysore

Rooted in a long tradition from Mysore, India, this practice was developed by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois and passed down through generations — one breath, one posture, one student at a time.

In a traditional Mysore-style class, everyone moves through their own sequence at their own pace. There’s no group instruction — instead, the teacher offers personal guidance and hands-on support, adjusting and teaching each practitioner individually.

For beginners, this means you learn the sequence slowly, posture by posture, under the steady eye of the teacher. You build strength, focus, and confidence — in a way that feels safe, mindful, and deeply personal.

For more experienced practitioners, it’s a space to refine and deepen — to explore subtle alignment, breath, and presence.
