Show a Little Leg!
If it’s one thing I love doing it’s hoop tricks with my legs ? This workshop is all about tricks with the legs and feet while standing up. We’ll be learning some pick ups, wedgies, foot passes, leg breaks, foot rolls and throws from the feet. With each trick you’ll learn ways to incorporate these tricks into your normal dance.
I recommend bare feet and shorts for this workshop.
If possible please bring a hoop that is the same size or smaller than your inside leg length
In this workshop we’ll be exploring the use of the elbows in a more fluid style. Constantly moving on and off the elbows, using them as a guide or a resting point rather than a place to spin the hoop. We’ll be focusing specifically on the use of the outside break elbow grab and folded rolls to transition in countless ways and removing any awkwardness you may feel about incorporating elbow tricks into your hooping.
Turning with Twins and The Fountain!
We will go through the 3 main positions (forwards weave, reverse weave and windmill) of the fountain and some variations of those. At each main shape I’ll teach the ‘basic’ move with more advanced variations where needed.
We will work on all the grip switches required to turn in a circle and then how to pass through the windmill.
